A custom soccer uniform is a small system: jersey, short, socks if you source them, keeper contrast, and often a training layer that must live with the same badge.
What a complete soccer program includes
Clubs rarely buy a jersey alone for long. The second order is shorts that match the colour logic. The third is a training top that can take a weekly wash. Abijah Sports manufactures those pieces as a program so the crest does not change size between the match shirt and the hoodie.
Decide the list early: home, away, keeper, training jersey, tracksuit. You do not have to produce every item in the first shipment, but you should know which blocks must share a colour system. See the soccer collection for how we group those garments.
Youth grading matters. A U12 chart is not a scaled-down adult chart if you want the shirt to stay wearable. Send the age bands you actually dress.
Fabrics that behave on a pitch
Polyester interlock gives opacity and a clean print face. Bird eye and micro meshes move air. Inserts can mix the two so a jersey vents without becoming transparent under stadium lights. GSM is not a moral value; it is a climate and preference choice. A heavier shirt can feel premium in a cold season and swamp a team in August.
Read the GSM guide before you lock a number because a friend “always uses 180.” Your climate and your league’s wash routine should pick the cloth.
Elastics, drawcords and brief linings in shorts are where cheap programs fail. Specify them. A short that slides during a match is a product defect, not a player problem.
Identity: crests, names, numbers, sponsors
Most modern kits are sublimated. That lets the pattern run through seams and keeps names as variable data. Crests can still be embroidered on heavier training pieces. Sponsors need a minimum size that a camera — or a club constitution — will accept.
Number fonts should be chosen for the league, not for a social media template. Stroke width that disappears at 30 metres is a design error. Our artwork desk places these elements on the pattern so a back number does not collide with a sponsor or a hem graphic.
From mockup to roster delivery
Collect a player list with sizes before you cut names. A kit with three unused extra-larges and no mediums is a planning failure. Approve mockups in writing. Sample at least one size if this is the first season with a new factory. Inspect measurements on arrival against the chart you signed.
Packing can be by player bag or by size. Tell us which, because it changes the fold and the carton plan. International buyers should also name the destination so export marks are correct. Abijah Sports ships from Sialkot; we do not claim a warehouse in your city.
When you are ready, send the list and files through Get a Quote or WhatsApp.
Home, away and keeper as one system
A club that orders a home kit in isolation often returns eight weeks later for an away kit that fights the first. Plan the pair. Decide which colour is sacred — usually the home shirt — and which colour is allowed to be more experimental. Keepers should be visible against both, not only against the home outfield.
Sponsor hierarchy should be the same logic on both shirts unless a league rule forces a change. Players notice when a sleeve mark jumps size. Photographers notice when a back number font changes between colourways. These are not fashion details. They are how a club looks organised.
Shorts, socks and the forgotten SKUs
Shorts need a rise and a brief that belong to soccer, not to a generic athletic short pulled from another program. Drawcords should be usable with wet hands. If you add a pocket, say why; many match shorts should not have one. Socks, when you source them, need a colour that survives the dye lot conversation — they are often a different mill than the jersey.
Training jackets and travel hoodies should take the same crest file, not a redrawn mascot. That is how a sideline looks like the same organisation as the pitch. See jackets and apparel when you add those layers.
What to send besides artwork
A size matrix by age grade. A note on whether women’s and men’s cuts are required. Any league rule on number size. A wash reality check: school laundry is not a gentle cycle. If the kit will be reused across two seasons, say so — that affects how adventurous a pale colourway should be.
If you are a distributor rather than a club, say how you will re-order names. Variable data is easy when the template is locked and painful when every season is a new artistic experiment.
Abijah Sports manufactures soccer apparel in Sialkot for export. We will not invent a lead time in this article. Ask the desk for the current path when your list is ready.
Pre-season checklist
Lock colourways before you lock sponsor names if the sponsors are still selling. Lock the number font before you collect the roster if the league dictates height. Lock the short specification before you photograph a jersey alone — players buy a kit with their eyes on both pieces. Send the roster in a table, not in a screenshot of a group chat.
If you are late, cut scope. A complete home kit on time is better than a home-and-away dream that arrives after the first fixture. Tell the factory which SKU is allowed to slip. Silence on that point is how the wrong SKU is prioritized.
Questions
Yes. Keeper sets are usually specified as a contrast colourway with the same decoration rules as the outfield kit.
If you send a garment or a lab dip reference, we can aim to match. A photo alone is a weak standard.
Not always. Training pieces are often a different GSM or construction. We confirm that in the brief.
